Cynthia is a member of The Open Door Missionary Baptist Church and has been for 35 years. She serves as a Bible teacher, Superintendent of the Open Door Sunday School, a New Membership Instructor, and Member of the Follow up Ministry. Cynthia is also a conference speaker and workshop leader. In 2000, she was licensed to preach the gospel and was ordained a minister of the gospel in 2016.
Cynthia graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2002, where she received a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. She received a certificate of completion in Biblical Studies at Hosanna Bible Training Center in Bedford, OH. She completed the program in Black Church Studies, at McCreary Center for African American Religious Studies, in Cleveland, OH. She also completed an internship in the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Chaplaincy Program and received CPE units.
Cynthia has a strong desire and passion to reach outside the walls of the local church with the spiritual and emotional healing love of Jesus Christ. She does this through providing personal, family and group, Christ-centered counseling for anyone in need.
On December 31, 2013, Cynthia retired from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation after 36 years of service. As a result, she is now free to give herself totally to the study of the Word of God. She has a strong desire to show herself approved unto God as a worker not being afraid, but rightly dividing the word of truth. She also has a desire to help mature members of the Body of Christ in the Word so that during this age and in this “culture,” they will be able to defend the faith.
Cynthia loves listening to gospel music, enjoys decorating and gardening.
