MERRILL, Wis. — CM CARES, the Church Mutual Insurance Company Foundation, is pleased to
announce that it is now accepting applications for its second annual Religious Scholarship
Program, offering up to $250,000 in scholarships to graduate and doctoral students who are
committed to a career in ministry.
The CM CARES Religious Scholarship Program, introduced last year, is open to students across
the country. Scholars who wish to apply must be enrolled full-time in an advanced degree
program in theology, ministry, or other field of religious study at an accredited theological
seminary, college, or university during the 2018-19 academic year. Complete details are

“Every scholarship we award assists a hard-working and deserving student who wishes to
minister to others and make a difference in the world,” said Rich Poirier, president and CEO of
Church Mutual Insurance Company. “Our ongoing investment in religious education highlights
the sincerity of our connection to the many faith-based organizations that rely on us as well as
the strength of our commitment to our mission, Protecting the Greater Good.”
Students of all faiths are encouraged to apply before the April 14, 2018, deadline. Up to 50
winners will be announced in June 2018. Each winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship that can
be used to help pay for tuition, fees, books and other education costs.

time, effort and energy to their studies, and we want to help them succeed,” Poirier said. “By
supporting tomorrow’s religious leaders today, we are ensuring that faith communities benefit
from strong and able leadership in the years to come.”
