Rev. Shields, born in Cleveland, Ohio, worked with Rev. Dr. Clark at the Ohio Department of Youth Services Juvenile Correctional Facility in Highland Hills, Ohio for 21 years before joining the Cleveland Police Department, where he worked as a patrol officer and a police academy instructor before he retired. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Rev. Shields is a graduate of the Chaplaincy Internship Program (CIP) as well as On One Accord Bible Ministry and has attended Moody Bible College.
Rev. Shields is the founder of OG Give Back, a group that facilitates ex-cons talking to youth; he also teaches Bible studies at Region of Euclid Assisted Living.
Rev. Shields currently is the Instructor of Systematic Theology at OOABI and a minister at The Greater Fellowship Assembly Church in Cleveland, Ohio, and has also served as a youth minister there.
