Pastor Charles D. Hill Jr. is the founder and Senior Pastor of “Hang On In There Ministries”, a ministry that is led from Charles’ passion to work with people who need encouragement and hope. This father of 3 and grandfather of 3 enjoys fishing, golfing and praising the Lord. Charles has worked with the Fatherhood Initiative as a facilitator and wishes to serve God by having men follow him as he follows Christ. His favorite scripture is James 4:7 “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”.
Pastor Charles was born September 9, 1959, the second of four children, in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles and Rose Hill. At an early age Charles began serving God as a youth leader with the Awana Club at Bible Baptist Church under Pastor Banks. Like so many. Charles ventured off the path. He thanks God that while he forgot about God…God never forgot about him.
On September 11, 2010, Charles was Ordained to the office of Pastor of The Abundant Life Christian Church by Apostle Larry James.
On January 22, 2022, Pastor Charles was affirmed Pastor with the Abrahamic Temple Diocese Thee Arch-Diocese, and in March 2022 Charles was appointed to oversee the Ecclesial Pastors Affiliation by Canon Bishop Wayne Fitzpatrick.
On February 6, 2023, Charles began a career with the State of Ohio as a Chaplain at Grafton Reintegration Camp.
Pastor Charles was a student of “The Johnson Leadership Institute” under Bishop F. Josephus Johnson at “The House of The Lord” in Akron, Ohio.
On June 14th, 2025, Pastor Charles was consecrated to the office of Overseer in the Abrahamic Temple Diocese the Archdiocese of North America.
He was also a student of On One Accord Bible Institute under Rev. Dr. Gregory F. Clark Sr. (Where he will be receiving his Honorary Doctorate on August 24, 2025)
